Hills Golf Resort & Spa is truly a desert oasis sprawled
over 360 acres in Rancho Mirage. The resort is beautifully
situated, with picturesque mountain views and a secluded
location creating the perfect escape. As one of Golf Digest’s Top 75
Golf Resorts in North America, this Rancho Mirage hotel is the
perfect place to play and unwind. And my husband and I were
ready to unwind!

First and foremost, the golf is excellent—a golfer’s dream, with
two championship golf courses available to guests: the Pete Dye
Resort course and the Gary Player Signature course. Each offers
a completely different type of experience to challenge even the
most extreme golf enthusiast and features stunning desertscape
and mountain skyline views. The resort is family friendly, allowing
a relaxed dress code on the course, and free golf for kids with a
paying adult after 3 p.m. daily.

During our visit to the resort, we joined a golf tournament
taking place on the Gary Player Signature course—Patriot Golf
Tournament held on the weekend of Veterans Day. The weather
was beautiful, the company fantastic and the golf amazing—all
while raising funds for families of fallen soldiers. Ryan and I felt it
a privilege to enjoy ourselves while helping others.

We checked into one of Westin Mission Hill’s spacious, well-ap-
pointed guestrooms, which all feature signature Westin Heavenly
TM
Beds (with a good night’s sleep pretty much guaranteed), as well as
other personalized details. The resort offers nine different gues-
troom types. The traditional rooms are around 500-square feet,
or you can upgrade and enjoy a resort, pool or golf view from the
privacy of your balcony. Or, indulge in the unsurpassed luxury of a
suite, ranging from 600-square feet to over 2,000-square feet (with
