COOKIE CUTTERS FOR KIDS
A haircut can sometimes be a traumatic experience for a child, so Cookie Cutters for Kids
is the perfect place to take them. Kids walk in, chute down the slide, choose a car (their
personal hair cutting station), and a TV program to watch if they wish. For the hesitant
ones, there are bubbles, lollipops, balloons, small toys, and for everyone, an explanation of
the next step. The clippers and trimmers are quiet, something important for special needs
kids and those with sensory issues. Owners Annett and Alex Siegel hire stylists who are
good with hair and good with kids. It might be necessary to do the haircut while a child sits
on the floor or is perched on the slide. Annett recommends appointments. For kids with
special needs she suggests Tuesdays or Wednesdays, the slower days. She also asks you to
call ahead for an extended appointment if needed, which allows more success in getting a
tear-free and beautiful haircut.
This franchised company is growing quickly because it fills a need, and who doesn’t want
a child’s haircut with no tears!
