THE BROTHERS REED
“Three”
The Brothers Reed recently marked the
completion of the their new studio album
with a release party on January 6th at the
Talent Club in Talent, Oregon. Opening act
was the Portland Music Awards Best New
Artist—Redwood Son. The album, appropri-
ately named “Three,” is the third studio offer-
ing from the Brothers Reed since their 2015
debut of “Sick As Folk.”
Tracked at multiple locations on the west
coast, the record is a full band production
with Matthew Kriemelmann (drums) and
T.J. Eilers (bass) coming on board to provide
the needed punch to make the more soaring
tracks come across.
The Brothers breathe heavy influences of
honky-tonk, 90’s grunge, bluegrass, and 70’s
rock, into heartfully crafted folk songs with
instrumental elements ranging from hip-hop
to reggae and back to rock and country. All
in all, there is something for everyone on this
album.

RECAP
NO SHAVE NOVEMBER
Fifty-four local businesses teamed up and gathered
donations from the community to raise money for the
local No Shave November campaign benefiting the
Compassion Fund at Rogue Regional Medical Center. As
of early December, the total amount raised by these local
businesses was $71,484. In three years, this local cam-
paign has raised more than $160,000 for The Compassion
Fund, directly benefiting local cancer patients.
The local No Shave November fundraiser began in 2015
as an idea from Mark Damon and Theresa McCoy at KDP,
and Michelle Johannes, owner of MJ Communication,
who wanted to put a local spin on the national campaign.
They partnered with the Asante Foundation to begin the
Compassion Fund at Rogue Regional Medical Center.
Donations of all sizes contributed to the campaign’s suc-
cess. All the money raised stays local and 100 percent is
donated to the fund, which helps cancer patients with
extra items they need such as wigs, gas money to travel
to and from treatments, and more.
