SOUTHERN OREGON ORTHOPEDICS
Our Specialty is YOU! is the motto at Southern Oregon Orthopedics,
and it takes many people to make that happen. Brandi Winter, an
MA, is one of them. Her previous work as a triage nurse adds depth
of experience and knowledge to her current position. Brandi has a
heart to work directly with patients—rooming them, taking vitals,
going over medications, ordering x-rays, pulling up lab and x-ray
records, gathering information. Brandi has further certification as a The museum strives to enrich lives by offering art

a lot of dots and closes gaps.

The other two interviewees were not new faces to this writer, as
my granddaughter broke both arms in a three-month period, and
I took her to her appointments. Amy Hutchinson, a CMA and cast
technician, has the perfect personality for the cast room. Her easy-
going, upbeat personality puts patients at ease and allays fears as she
quickly and efficiently puts on splints and casts per doctors’ orders.
She offers observations and suggestions where appropriate, and helps
          in x-ray when needed.

Mario DiMambro is an x-ray technician, but helps in the casting room MANY MASTERPIECES
when needed. He was once a steel fabricator, but an injury forced him
to give up his trade. His first medical job allowed on-the-job training ONE ROOF
before he received official certification. He likes x-ray work because
it’s math, angles and measurements, though working with bodies
and bones, not steel. Talking about his role, he says, “We’re servants,
          because our patients come first.”

All agreed that support staff definitely make it happen. Amy likes the
work atmosphere at Southern Oregon Orthopedic, laughter being one
of the reasons. She feels that laughter (from both patients and staff) is a
good sign in a medical facility.
