Repentance from sin

and being BORN AGAIN is what people see has happened.
They are like two sides of the same coin.
So it can be said that a man or woman who sees their SIN,
REPENTS from it, asks God to SAVE them from the
consequences, believing that JESUS is the only way to
receive this salvation (this is called Faith, which will be looked
at later) - will be BORN AGAIN, this time by the Holy Spirit.

In this way the person's spirit comes to life for the purpose of
ruling over the the other two parts of his constitution, his soul
and his body. Here begins the process where man is made
ready for heaven and for his nature to be developed to be like
God's, as was intended for the first man and woman.

It is only through being regenerated or born again that men
and women are able to have a new life that can be
fundementally changed from the old. Ephesians 4 v22-24
'You were taught, with regard to your former way of life,
to put off your old self, which is (still) being corrupted by
deceitful desires, to be made new in the attitude of your
minds and put on the new self, created to be like God in
                true righteousness and Holiness.'

At this point a person can truly be called a CHRISTIAN.
The results of this new Birth of the spirit, performed by the
                Holy Spirit are:-

 Receiving a new name. Before we had the name
'sinner', now it is 'saint'. The Bible teaches that all
who believe on the Lord Jesus are saint's, it is not a
name for a special designation of Christian. Speaking
of the Day when Jesus returns, the Bible explains
exactly who the saints are, they are those who
                     believe. 1Thessalonians 1 v10 '..when He comes
in that Day, to be glorified in His saints, and to be
admired among all those who believe...'
