Repentance from sin
REDEMPTION
In this whole section on REPENTANCE FROM WORKS
THAT LEAD TO DEATH the themes that it has contained
could be defined as:-
Man's departure from God and God's deliverance of man.
Under Man's departure from God we have seen why man
departed, it was through Rebellion; and how was through Sin.
Under God's deliverance of man we have seen:
WHY - Because God's nature is gracious and so he works by
His Grace.
HOW - Through the Salvation that comes from Himself.
WHEN - As a man Repents from his sin and towards God.
WHAT - a MAN is Born Again by God's Spirit.
These are the dealings between Man and God and God
and Man.
There are other dealings that have taken place that do not
involve man at all, which have been done by God alone but
on Man's behalf. This is Redemption.
SIN had made mankind slaves. But slaves to whom. Slaves
to Satan (or the devil) who is first seen in the Bible being
described as a serpent in Genesis 3 v1 'Now the serpent
was more cunning than any beast of the field...' Satan
was the founder and ruler of everything sinful.
Once all of mankind was under the ownership of Satan, they
