What a Christian Believes

                                      Part Six

                6. Eternal Judgement.

This is the last of the elementary doctrines of Christianity.

It links closely to the first of the doctrines:- Repentance from
acts that lead to death (i.e. from sin) because Acts that
lead to death are to be Judged by God.

However, the other doctrines in this group are about the
availability of the power, grace and mercy of God to rescue
                mankind from that judgement.

Yet the Bible teaches that God is the JUDGE OF ALL MEN.
This expression is used in the Book of Hebrews, in chapter
                12.

Hebrews is a unique book in the New Testament because it
is the only one that is written specifically to those Jews who
had believed in Christ and become christians. The Jews
were those for who the Old Testament was given and
believed it to be God's word to and for them alone.

The Old Testament has sometimes been called the New
Testament concealed, meaning that many of God's purposes
were hidden in the Jewish laws and rituals. This was so His
purposes would not be fully understood until Jesus Christ the
                Messiah had come.
The Jewish people had continually gone into sinful practices
throughout their history and so, although they kept the laws
some of the time, their experience of God was often to come
                under His judgement.

The Book of Hebrews shows how God's purposes are to be
