Do you organise your life? Are you in control of your life? These might sound
strange questions and your immediate response will tell you that they require
consideration. A mind that is under the control of the ego will provide a
spontaneous reply of “of course” to both. A mind under the control of Spirit
will ponder and continue to question itself. The egoist will respond
immediately and the spiritual person will ponder, and might not even see the
need to reply at all. The ego mind is full of conflict, fear, confusion and doubt.
It never really knows what is right or what is wrong for itself or for anything.
The ego mind will probably be living in the mind of another, trying to live life
through them. The ego mind will try and control others and not realise it is
under the control of many sources, the state, the church, the darkness, and of
course its own personal negativity. In many people this is the way their life is.
They are not bad people, but they may, in extreme cases be people behaving
badly. Look around you. Is the world you see the way you would want it to
be? How would you change it and why? Why would you even see the need to
change the world? Remember we said that it is as you need it to be. If you
would seek to change the world you are denying your input into it becoming
the way it is for you. We are sure you will find this difficult to accept and that
you will find many reasons outside of yourself to blame for your predicament.
Now look at the world without the luxury of being able to exonerate your
responsibilities and blame the world, and even God for your dilemma. You
will now see the world in a different light. You will see a world full of
challenges, and also mistakes. You will see a history that leads up to this
calamity, a confused history, a history full of contradictions, history with so
many viewpoints that the truth has been lost. One thing that hasn’t been lost is
the results of the past. The result of the past is the present. What matters
history now? If you can keep your focus on the now and accept all that is in
your life and deal with that, then you will be on the road to minding your own
business and on the path to spiritual success. This is simplicity. You will find
