happiness as well as unhappiness so that we can tell the
difference between good and bad decisions. Why then do
we continue to so willingly accept unhappiness? Because
our ego will never accept the responsibility of only
seeking to do what makes it truly happy. Being truly
happy is where our Spirit is contented. The ego is always
prepared to suffer for what it sees as its goals in life. A
spiritually ignorant ego has no idea of what that goal is,
doesn't understand the true purpose of life and yet is
measuring its choices, often at best, under the guidance
of its perceived religion. We have said before how
religion is created by humankind and for its means of
controlling the human population through the misuse of
spiritual principles modified to suit the society that
creates it. Those in “power” in that society depend on the
population of that society for the power they have and
will promise anything to achieve that position. Once they
get into that powerful position they will invariably
forget those promises, but the memory has stored them so
