the options for a career with an attitude far removed from
their previous musings. They will base their decisions on your
response and advice. If you are giving advice make sure it
isn’t taken as an instruction or governed by your material
desires and wishes. It is important to all, you your child and
God, that this life is a happy one. Therefore the best advice
you can give the child is to do what they think will make them
happiest. Accept their decisions and discuss, without debate,
the options that would surround such a decision, emphasising
they are just your observations to highlight what could be
unforeseen difficulties. Remember to discuss with optimism
to positive potentials of their project. Also emphasise that it is
indeed their decision and should they think it will lead to
greater happiness then they have your support. They will
never ‘let you down’ as long as you don’t have conditions and
expectations attached to your support, that they might feel
obliged to accept. Always allow them to changes their minds
before they settle on one thing. Their future is now really their
responsibility and if you have served them well up to now
there should be nothing to worry about. There will of course
be obstacles that will appear for them but it is not for you to
remove them or in any way interfere or undermine the young
adult in their ability to overcome all such obstacles. For
example, money never solves any problem; the problem is
solved by learning the means to acquire the necessary
funding. This is the basis of getting on in your world today.
Unfortunately many get so engrossed in finding money that
they forget why they thought they needed it in the first place.
Happiness cannot be bought or created. Happiness if already
there, it is only a matter of finding it. God will lead the way as
