growth are still down to a natural biological process but does
require strict attention on the part of the parents. It is their
instinctive duty to care for the child in every way they can.
The parents need to know that if they do this with love, not
only to they have God by their side but they are unconsciously
nurturing the spiritual requirements of the child. If we are to
stand back and look at the process, not with our "heart" but
from our "head", we will see how wonderful the process is,
we will see the God-ness in it. As we have said the child has a
way of letting us know what it needs and when it needs it. It
rarely requires adult intervention. Difficulties occur when the
adults over rule the child and start to impose their regime onto
the child, and though the child is very young it will resist in
preference to its own ideas. You will notice that when a child
is born it has what is called a "soft spot", the fontanel, on its
head. Over a period of time this will close over. What is
happening is that this "spot" is where the child is still
connected to God, if you like the safety link. This link
remains until the time elapses for the child to adjust to its new
surroundings and for its parents adjust to this new presence.
You will notice the sense of serenity around the child, a sense
of perfection, a sense of love. When the fontanel closes you
will often notice a change in the demeanour of the child and
the focus changes to growing teeth. Perhaps this is one of the
most uncomfortable periods for the developing baby but it
serves a purpose in switching its consciousness to its
physicality. You know from your own experience what a
tooth ache is like and how its sharpens you awareness of all
the nerve pathways in your body, and this will help you
understand what is happening for the child. These writings are
not to give you advice as to how to cater for these situations
