5.2 Innovation – Concepts and Processes
Innovation is a key outcome of creative and scientific thinking. In computing and
information sciences, innovation drives technological advancement, improves system ef-
ficiency, and creates new solutions to complex problems. Modern technologies such as
artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, and cybersecurity are all results of in-
novative thinking supported by scientific methods. This lecture introduces the concept
of innovation, explains its main characteristics, and presents the stages and processes
