alike, but retirement will allow more time with her husband, Gary, and 3 children. We are thrilled that Deb can happily participate in dragon boat racing, golf, and the many Philadelphia Eagles charitable events that are close to her heart. Look for Deb in the stands at The LINK as she is a long- time Eagle’s season ticket holder. Deb can officially tailgate on Sundays in K Lot without concern of the Monday morning alarm clock.
On behalf of the MCIU transition team, thank you for all you have done for the students of Montgomery County.
Cecilia Quenzer
School Nurse, Student Services
Cecilia Quenzer, or Nurse Q as she is
known here, is more than a school nurse
to the staff and students at Anderson
and Explorations. She has been at the
MCIU for 10 years and has supported its
students in a myriad of ways. She served
on the MCIU Safety Committee and the MCIU Student Wellness Committee, impacting all students in the county with her knowledge and suggestions. She was a huge support to the MCIU during the pandemic, spending time every week helping with COVID testing. Nurse Q provided education for the students on taking care of their bodies, CPR and first aid, eating right, and healthy relationships. She took time to teach the students to sew pillowcases for children with cancer at CHOP. At Anderson and Explorations, she did more than tend to the student’s health, she addressed their mental health. She offered a listening ear, and the students just felt better in her presence. She gave them the tough love they need, encouraging them to go back to class, and talking to them about their goals, big and small. Students feel loved by Nurse Q, and she helps save lives by being that person that believes in them! Staff ask her for advice every day, and they are always better for it. We will dearly miss Nurse Q, but wish her a well-deserved, wonderful retirement!
