CRI (Conservatives, Republicans, and Independents)
At CRI, we don’t only have political speakers at our meetings; we also
have speakers of interest to the entire community. At our February
meeting, we heard from Matt Click, Executive Director of the Placer
County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA), Mike Costa, Senior
Transportation Planner for the PCTPA and Jason Shykowski, Roseville’s
Director of Public Works. So, the experts were in the house THAT
night. They enlightened us on several projects under consideration
including, widening of Baseline/Riego Road and Blue Oaks Blvd.
We also heard from the current Mayor of Roseville, Bruce Houdesheldt.
He updated us on Roseville City Government. Did you know that we
ended last year with a 31.5-million-dollar budget surplus? At the
meeting one of our members mentioned the long wait times at the light
on Village Green and Fiddyment. It turned out to be a timing issue and
the mayor had it fixed within the week!
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 2nd at 7:00 pm at
The Retreat. Our speaker will be Ryan Ronco, Placer County Clerk-

Club Crafters
Whatever your craft or hobby is, we would like to invite you to join
us. We meet every Tuesday at 10 AM in the library. Dig out those
unfinished projects and come have a cup of coffee with us, and I
guarantee lots of good conversation and laughs. If you would like more

Club Trekkers
The Club Trekkers conduct hikes on the first and third Tuesdays of each play. We’ve had great turnout so in order to give everyone a chance to
month and the Saturdays immediately following those Tuesdays. On the play, we ask that initially you only sign up for your first choice. Then
other Saturdays of the month we conduct neighborhood walks. Two
days before each hike or walk we send out an email with details
regarding the next hike or walk to members of the Club Trekkers.
We are also attempting to put together a guided group hike to the Sutter
Buttes. We’re currently on the wait list for a hike on Wednesday,
3/29/23.
Below are the hikes/walks planned for March. If reports indicate flowers All levels of players are welcome – we’ll teach you the fundamentals if
are in full bloom the hiking schedule may change.

Club Quilters ~ Quilters inspiring Quilters
We meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays at 10:00 a.m. in The Library. If you

Club Veterans
We have little to report currently due to the planning that
is going on behind the scenes. We have selected our team
for the Spring BBQ and now getting organized and create
this year’s menu. Stand by for further notice as I receive
the details.
The board wants to thank all the staff who works so hard to have
everything ready for our meetings each month year after year. They are a
blessing for us old men who could not do what they do for us. Thank you
so much and yes, we will be saving a donut for each of you.
Please remember, you do not need to be a veteran to become a member
of this special interest group. All one must be is a member of our
some assistance in our county area. By the way, half of our board are non
-veterans!
Cornhole
Cornhole is a game where teams of 2 players take turns throwing bean
bags at a raised, angled board with a hole in the far end. The goal is to
land bean bags in the hole or on top of the board. Teams are established
each time from a lottery draw.
Since clocks spring forward in March, our goal is to move cornhole
outside under the covered deck. If the weather is bad, we will play inside
in the Wellness Room. Cornhole plays on the first and third weeks of
each month. In March we will play on Mondays, March 6th and
20th. And then on Wednesdays March 1st and 15th. Monday play is at
1:00 pm and Wednesday play is at 5:30 pm.
A sign-up email is sent out approximately one week before scheduled
place your name on the wait list for the other day. If there is room for
additional players, we’ll notify them from the waitlist.
In January, Cornhole started a new competition. We are keeping track of
everyone’s individual score and their two highest scores in a month are
used for the competition. The highest scoring individuals for the first six
months of the year will receive a prize in July.

Cribbage
MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS @ 10AM CRIBBAGE IS PLAYED
AT THE CLUB UNTIL NOON
Come play CRIBBAGE with us every Monday and/or Wednesday from
10am to noon. We play two and three handed and partners with four.
Cards are drawn to see who plays with whom. If you have not played in
a long time, no problem, we will go slow and reacquaint you to the
game. We have 12 to 20 members and play to have fun and enjoy each
others company. If you would like to play Cribbage drop in or call Alan
