and peel it off of the board. It will still be a little sticky on the bottom, but will be
nice and crispy on top.
If you are cooking straight on the heat, you want to make a cake about ¼ inch
thick. Place it directly on the coals. You can leave it that way and flip it after a few
minutes, or you can cover the top with coals as well. Total cooking time should be
three to five minutes. After you are done cooking, just dust off the ashes and you
are ready to eat. A little ash never hurt anybody. If you are squeamish about the
ash, you can wrap your cake in leaves. However, be aware that the flavor of the leaf
will likely transfer to the cake. If you go this route, you will need to use several
layers of green leaves as they will gradually burn through. From there you will cook
it the same way as if the dough were naked.
