FEAR UNMA S KED

the more people used Facebook, the less happy and
satisfied they became. Researchers also found that
when the participants interacted with other people
directly in person, happiness and life satisfaction were
not affected. The study concluded that while Facebook
seems to fulfill the basic human need for connection,
Facebook actually did the exact opposite: it made
people feel sad, dissatisfied, and alone.

Despite knowing how social media and
smartphone use can decrease our mental abilities as
well as how social media can negatively impact our
emotional state, perhaps you’re still not convinced?
If these reasons aren’t compelling enough, then let’s
examine what a massive waste of time social media
can be. In an article by Carolyn Sun, published by

Entrepreneur magazine, it was determined that the
average person will spend more than FIVE YEARS of
               their life on social media.

Carolyn’s article continues to explain another
terrifying conclusion this study found—the average
person will spend only one year and three months
over their entire life socializing with friends and
family in real life. We will spend five times more of
our life interacting with people digitally than in real

life. Your daily routine of proving people wrong on
Facebook or endlessly scrolling through Instagram
isn’t looking as tempting now, huh?
