One of the most destructive traits related to social
media that we have all experienced at one time or
another is the vicious attacks that seem to happen so
quickly when we try to stand up for our values on
social media. Want to update your Facebook status on

your stance against abortion? Prepare for a tidal wave
of hate, vitriol, and negativity to fill your comment
feed. Do you dare tweet about how the world might
be overreacting to the coronavirus pandemic just a
little bit? I’ve seen responses where numerous people
will call you an evil, anti-Christian, murderer.
We now live in an age where people are more

concerned about appearing right to the masses
on social media rather than actually holding an
established set of core values by which they live
their lives and make decisions. In the liberal media,
conservatives are often portrayed as intolerant,
uneducated, and racist bigots, which then influences
the way people act on social media. While the left
often self-righteously prides themselves on standing
up for the rights of those who are mistreated in

society, it seems they hypocritically mistreat others
while advocating for their views.
