Question: What are you doing to the Card Rooms?
Answer: The Men’s Card Room, which is underutilized will be reduced in size and part of
it will be incorporated into the Ladies Card Room which will be repositioned to allow for the
new casual dining area. Depending on configuration, the Women’s Card Room will seat
84-88; the Men’s Card Room will seat 40.
Question: How will the Locker Rooms be changed?
Answer: The Locker Rooms will have a new modern, clean look that aligns to our theme
throughout the rest of the Clubhouse. With the Fitness Center over the new Cart Barn,
the treatment room, currently in the Locker Rooms, would be relocated to the new Fitness
Center. The attendants’ room will be relocated into the existing treatment room and the
current attendants’ room will be converted to badly needed storage.
Question: Why do we need more storage?
Answer: We do not have enough storage. We currently pay for two storage areas in a
local public storage facility.
Question: I am not very mobile so how will I get to the Fitness Center when it is
above the Cart Barn?
Answer: There will be an elevator up to the Fitness Center. The distance from the current
Fitness Center to the new Fitness Center is not great. However, for those who need it, the
carts that presently go to and from Valet to the golf area, will transport Members to and
from the elevator to the Fitness Center.
Question: What is planned for the restrooms on the Golf Course?
Answer: The restrooms on the course will be completely renovated and air conditioning
will be installed.
Question: Why can’t we just paint the walls and change the carpet in the
Clubhouse?
Answer: Updating our facilities in the way other clubs are doing is necessary in this
competitive club market. Ultimately, our failure to maintain our facilities in the same
manner as other clubs will have an adverse impact on our community.
Question: Why do we need to change the entrance to the community?
Answer: The entrance to the community was constructed in 1984. We show many
people around the club who say they never knew we existed. Bocaire does not stand out
as you drive by, nor is it the image we want that people identify us as the club opposite
Polo. A new entrance with modernized signage that stands out would help Bocaire change
that image.
