Professor Kotler founded World Marketing Summit (WMS) in 2010 – a global forum of marketers donning to academia, researchers and business entrepreneurs. WMS initiated global movement through marketing strategies that inspire to change human behavior leading to a positive impact on society and living for future generation. The scenario of world economy persuaded Professor Philip Kotler to conceptualize
a new paradigm supported by marketing ethos. The
 rst Summit was held in Bangladesh in 2012, which fascinated all the marketers and entrepreneurs for “Creating a Better World through Marketing”.
He is in many Advisory Boards at different universities, associations, and business chambers, such as Chairman of the College of Marketing of the Institute
of Management Sciences, Director of the American Marketing Association, Trustee of the Marketing Science Institute, a Director of the MAC Group, former member of the Yankelovich Advisory Board, and member of
the Copernicus Advisory Board. He is Member of the Board of Governors of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Member of the Advisory Board of the Drucker Foundation.
Kotler was the  rst recipient of American Marketing Association’s
Distinguished Marketing Educator Award, Sales and Marketing Executives International Marketer of the Year Award; and Distinguished Educator Award from The Academy of Marketing Science. He was also voted the  rst Leader in Marketing Thought by the American Marketing Association which described him as “the most in uential marketer of all time.” He was named as The Founder of Modern Marketing Management
in the Handbook of Management Thinking. Professor Kotler was ranked the fourth most In uential Business Writers/Management Gurus, following Peter Drucker, Bill Gates, and Jack Welch, in a survey of 1,000 executives from 25 countries (Financial Times November 18, 2005). He was ranked the sixth most in uential business thinker following Gary Hamel, Thomas L. Friedman, Bill Gates, Malcolm Gladwell, and Howard Gardner by the Wall Street Journal (May 5, 2008).
He received Philip Kotler Award for Excellence in Health Care Marketing. The European Association of Marketing Consultants and Sales Trainers awarded Kotler with their prize for “Marketing Excellence”. The Academic Members of the AMA in a 1975 survey chose him as the “Leader in Marketing Thought”. He also received the 1978 “Paul Converse Award” of the AMA, honoring
