Preface
For me, painting is a record of life, a way to release the soul, and a flow of mind to see the natural world.
The Cultivation of Painting, Step by Step
For a painting creator, "a solo exhibition" is an affirmation and a new milestone. After years of cultivation of painting, I held my
first solo exhibition, "A Sudden Glimpse: The Elegance of Imagery," at Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center in 2006. Through the visual
images of the beautiful and colorful natural scenes such as lush mountains, green fields, mountains, cliffs, waterfalls, clouds, and springs,
the exhibition featured the creative subjects of taking the shape, presenting the momentum, conceptualization, and spiritualization. The well-
received exhibition encouraged me to keep working on art.
In 2008, the "Surge" series was born. This series of works was selected in the 20th Art Inheritance Artist's Relay Exhibition by Taichung
County Government, and the solo exhibition was held at Fengyuan Cultural Center, Taichung County Government, and the Cultural Affairs
Bureaus of Nantou County, Hsinchu City, and Hsinchu County. The constant positive reviews of the exhibition further strengthened my
attachment to art.
In 2010, the solo exhibition "Soar" was held at National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall to show the courage to explore the world.
Not sticking to the objects in the objective world, I wield the brushes by following my heart freely and select the images without confusion.
Through the spiritual soar of heaven and earth that transcends time and space in reality, I pursue the majestic and open spiritual realm where
heaven and earth live together with me, and the myriad things and I are one.
The 921 Earthquake in 1999 caused serious damage to Taiwan. The society was full of chaos, helplessness, and uneasiness. For me, art
is the positive energy that can redeem, soothe, and repair people's hearts. In 2013, the "Round-Source" series was completed with the prayers
for blessings. In the same year, the solo exhibition of "Round-Source" was held at Dadun Cultural Center. The works adhere to the Oriental
philosophical thinking of "round on the outside and square on the inside. With "the round shape" as the center, the rich styles and strong and
bright colors symbolize the prosperous vitality of all things and show the strong and resilient essence of life. "Round" is both "a start" and
"an end." It is the endless cycle of life. It is expected that in the harmonious way of expansion and integration, the energy of unity and mutual
help in the universe will be gathered to pray for blessings for Taiwan and everyone in the world to share a spiritual world of peace and joy.
In 2021, I entered the In-Service Master's Program of Tunghai University. Some didn't understand me. Some asked me to give up. But
everyone only has one chance in life, and every life experience is unique. We often hesitate because of self-disgust. But every time we look
back, we will suddenly realize that every moment can be the flowering season, including the present. I've always loved a poem by Chan
Master Wu Men Hui Kai in the Song Dynasty: "Blossoms in spring, breezes in summer, glorious moons in fall, and snow in winter. When
one is held back by nothing, every moment can be wonderful."
Zhuang Zi: "Heaven and earth have their great beauties but do not speak of them; the four seasons have their clear regularity but do
not discuss it; all things on earth have their principles but do not expound them." The true "beauty" is not limited to the appearance of one
thing at one time. The deeper agility inside that exists but can't be seen has an awakening power to completely open the pure and free mind of
humans.
