Curriculum Vitae — Wang, Chun-Wei

Wang,Chun-Wei is a third-generation inheritor of the Mei-Yan Lacquer Art Workshop, a family recognized
as a leading force in Taiwanese lacquer art. Since graduating from university, he has devoted over a decade to
lacquer art, focusing on the creation and promotion of lacquer paintings and functional lacquerware. He has been
invited to serve as a lacquer art instructor at the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute and
the Fengyuan Lacquer Art Museum in Taichung, and has participated in numerous group exhibitions, earning
widespread recognition for his outstanding skills reflected in his works. He was twice commissioned to create
lacquer paintings, A Perfect Pair and Prosperity and Well-being, for President Tsai,Ing-wen and Foreign Minister
Joseph Wu, which were presented as national gifts to the King and Queen Mother of Eswatini.
His works have been exhibited at venues such as the Taipei Howard Salon, Taichung Ho Ho Gallery, and
the Tainan Art Fair. He has collaborated on cross-disciplinary projects with leading designers both in Taiwan and
abroad, and has also partnered with Eslite Bookstore to develop a series of functional lacquerware products. His
work reflects a lacquer art style that integrates traditional techniques with contemporary aesthetics, embodying an
innovative and inclusive vision.
