Message from our COO
When I became MIL’s COO in 2015, my goal was to advance our CEO’s mission to provide
innovative cyber, engineering, financial, and information technology services to the federal
government. And now, eight years later, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of you (and your
families) and I can say without a doubt that People Making a Difference isn’t just a tagline, it’s
very much a matter of fact. Whether it's streamlining our processes, developing cutting-edge
solutions, or pushing the boundaries of innovation, each of you bring a passion and a dedication
that is very much appreciated.
Moving forward, we want to recognize your efforts in a more integrated fashion, whereby all
aspects of performance management are working in concert to influence and track your career
progression. This means that all of the elements of performance management will now be better
aligned to ensure your efforts are recognized and that your professional development is a priority.
In addition to these changes, there is a lot more I want to share with you about the exciting path
ahead. While our past achievements lay a strong foundation, our focus remains resolutely on the
future. To hear all about it, join me on October 17th at noon (see meeting invite for log in details).
I’m looking forward to chatting with you!
Best,
Marisa Daley, COO
MIL named a top workplace in South Carolina
MIL has once again—and for the fifth time—earned the 2023 Top Workplaces South Carolina award! This year, MIL ranks
seventh for mid-sized companies in South Carolina. The company was selected for this regional Top Workplaces award from
among 69 organizations in the state. As designated by three local publications (Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia
Business Monthly, and Charleston Business Magazine), the Top Workplace list is based solely
on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee
engagement technology partner, Energage LLC. This confidential survey uniquely measures 15
culture drivers, such as alignment, execution, and connection, which are critical to the success
of any organization.
“Our team members are our greatest asset; we have many programs and processes in place to
show our commitment to professional development, work-life balance, and career advancement
and I couldn’t be more pleased to see it is resonating,” said MIL COO Marisa Daley. “Our
Charleston, S.C. employee-base is always a pleasure to work with—helping this group excel is
easy because they are some of the most driven people I know.”
"Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it
comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something
to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a
voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends."
MIL has received the Top Workplaces Award for the Washington, D.C. area six times and the USA award three times. Under
the Top Workplaces umbrella, we have also received Industry and Cultural Excellence Awards for Technology; Appreciation;
Compensation; Employee Value Proposition; Employee Well-Being; Empowering Employees; Formal Training; Professional
Development; Top Managers; and Work Life Flexibility.
Thank you to all of the 400+ MIL team members who completed this year’s survey. Because of your valuable insights and
guidance, we are able to continue shaping an employee-focused organization that is tailor-made to meet the changing needs of
our employees.
