Be ready for anything

The beginning of an upcoming hurricane season is an excellent time to get prepared. For MIL staff living in the
Charleston area, in the Chesapeake Bay watershed in Southern Maryland, in coastal Florida, and other flood-
prone areas, it’s never too early to plan for your personal safety and property protection. One great way to be
prepared is to check to make sure you have the best technology tools available to ride out a storm. From the right
backup battery to a radio you can use when the Internet is unavailable, the Washington Post has offered up some
valuable tech tips for your emergency kit, such as:
• Make sure your tech stays dry and cool/warm
• Have a way to tune into NOAA weather radio for access to emergency notifications
• Keep backup batteries and other power options on hand and check them regularly
