Introducing MIL’s
Diversity & Inclusion Working Group
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, (OFCCP) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Labor entrusted with
enforcing equal employment opportunity and affirmative action laws that apply to federal government contractors. With a mission
to “protect workers, promote diversity, and enforce the law,” OFCCP conducts periodic compliance reviews of federal contractors to
examine hiring and employment practices to ensure they are nondiscriminatory. In 2018, MIL was selected for an OFCCP audit and
we embraced the opportunity to validate our company polices, corporate processes, and the commitment of MIL corporate leadership
to these efforts. The OFCCP’s review of our technical compliance, personnel activity, and compensation program affirmed that MIL
is a fair and nondiscriminatory employer and provided valuable insight into possible improvements and the opportunity to further
implement some lessons learned.
The MIL D&I Working Group
While we are pleased with the positive results of our initial OFCCP inspection, we are also motivated
and inspired to go well beyond mere compliance. To ensure we remain a proactive organization that is
constantly improving , MIL has instituted a new Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Working Group to fulfill
our commitment to our guiding principles, our employees and prospective hires, and acknowledge our
accountability to OFCCP and our federal customers. Co-chaired by MIL VPs Joel Melville and Rhonda
Cadogan, the D&I group is charged to develop recommendations to ensure that diversity and inclusion
are at the forefront of our mission and are embedded into each of our programs.

While OFCCP measures and reports diversity based on a numerical analysis of the » Danielle Hayes
workforce, inclusion is about impact. We can mandate diversity, but we must cultivate » Rebecca Helms
inclusion. We intend to advance that goal through D&I initiatives aimed at:
» Expand self-examination & outside evaluation—are we who we say we are? Are we » Mary Hernandez-Fernandez
constantly operating under, building upon, and improving our core principles? » Larry Hollingsworth
» Doing more & doing it better through innovative thinking —there’s always room for » Harvil Jenkins
improvement! » Tharana Karzai
» Continuously spreading our message—good policy turns into good practice through » Jon Nehman
awareness and training. » Carter Raines
» John Roland
