CGFS awards
The Department of State’s Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services
(CGFS) held an event on August 27th to honor both civil service and contract employees
for their accomplishment over the past year. During the ceremony, over 50 MIL employees
from the Charleston, SC area were recognized for their outstanding efforts in 2024. The
award recipients were nominated by their government managers based on their specific
achievements during the year. The awards spanned all CGFS departments.
Commenting on the high number of MIL staff being acknowledged during the proceedings,
MIL VP Kyle Brooks said, “I think it is great to see so many MIL employees being recognized
in these events. It really highlights what a wonderful and dedicated team we have.”
From among the many MIL staff members lauded during the event, CGFS Comptroller Jim
Walsh (pictured above) singled out several MIL team members for their outstanding efforts
over the past year. These employees included Najeeb Najeebullah, Robert Martey, and Uzo
Anyairo. All three are pictured below.
