        of peak workload. Despite the pressure, Alicia demonstrated
        great leadership and maturity, dedicating herself to the goal
        of cleanly closing out the end of the fiscal year. Always ready
        to provide a confident explanation for AR actions, Alicia’s
        civil servant counterparts noted her positive and professional
        attitude throughout the long hours and added stress of year-
        end closeout activities and tight deadlines.

        As the recipient of the award, Alicia was honored at a

        Sector employees compete for 2023-2024 HDI Capital Area awards

        As part of a national awards program, HDI Capital Area receives nominations from around the DMV area and judges select
        a local recipient for the Best Service & Support Analyst and Best Service & Support Technician of the year. This year, three
        employees from ITS Sector contracts at the Library of Congress were nominated for award consideration. Ariana Cortez
        was nominated by her manager, Aaron Miller, for the Best Service & Support Analyst. Michael Allen and Kelly Mason were
        nominated by their managers, Xavier Parada and Terry Gilchrist, for the Best Service & Support Technician award. Nominees
        and their managers attended an awards luncheon in Greenbelt, MD, where the nominating manager introduced the candidates
        to a group of IT support professionals who were in attendance.
