Say hello! Welcome, new hires
The HR Department is excited to introduce the Welcome New
Hires feature on their MILtranet site. On a quarterly basis, HR
will include welcome to the team “postcards” from new MIL
employees to help us virtually meet our latest team members.
Sorted by corporate sector, the postcard responses will tell us a
little bit about each newly hired staff member.
So don’t forget to pop in often to keep up with who’s new in
the crew!
Fresh faces at the CSC
Please join us in welcoming the Corporate Service Center’s five newest team members:
Alice Endes
Alice serves as a Facility Security Specialist at MIL supporting classified contract work
conducted companywide by helping to process clearance applications for all new employees.
Working with MIL’s FSO, Alice also submits visit access requests, helps with security self-
inspections and facility vulnerability inspections, delivers in- and out-briefs to cleared
employees, among other administrative duties. Prior to joining MIL in November, Alice served
in a similar capacity for another Lexington Park, MD based Defense contractor for close to two
years. During that time, she interacted with government support staff and Trusted Agents,
processing employees for CAC cards and DBIDS, initiating clearances in the systems of record,
and providing security awareness training such as initial orientation, annual refreshers, and
foreign travel briefings for both cleared and non-cleared employees and consultants.
When not keeping MIL compliant with the NISPOM (the National Industrial Security Program
Operating Manual), Alice can sometimes be found dining at ASAHI, thrifting, muscling
through a Hype House spin class, or catching a cup of coffee on the way.
Breanna “Bree” Kurtz
Bree was hired as an HR Business Partner, Team Lead, to support the MIL team in Southern
Maryland (SoMD). Although sited at the MIL Integration Facility in Lexington Park, Bree
rotates between our three off-site buildings to meet the needs of our SoMD staff. As Team Lead,
Bree will focus on employee engagement and retention while serving as a trusted advisor to
both employees and corporate leadership. Citing MIL’s reputation in the community as one
reason for accepting the position, Bree acknowledges she was looking for a place to grow in
an environment she could embrace and be proud of. Adding, “In this role, I hope to foster an
environment that allows for our employees to flourish and achieve their career goals, while
helping the company accomplish its goals and watching MIL grow.”
