MILES but the version claims the mother never came to America and the name
of the three boy’s father is not stated.
Therefore, it is safe to say at this time NO ONE KNOWS FOR SURE who the
first FOY in our family was who came to America. No one knows how or IF the
FOYs were connected to the Huguenots. All these varying theories are based
upon information passed down through the family. The letter which mentioned
JOHN as the first FOY was written more than two hundred years after the first
FOY allegedly came to America. No one knows the source of the information in
that letter; we just know that seemed to be the story which was passed down
through certain branches of the family and has been repeated time and time
again by FOY researchers.

HOW COULD THAT HAPPEN?
How could members of the same family come up with so many different versions
about their own family ?
A sad thing happens when one does genealogy research; one realizes how quickly
memories of people disappear when those who know do not preserve
information for those that follow.
You say to yourself,” Yeah, but that can’t happen today. We have records in
court houses, etc.”
Is that so ? Well, for you Cisco Clan FOY relatives,... who are the children of
ALICE MAY FOY ? What ever happened to ANNIE FOY ? Did FANNIE
ROSE FOY and BUD INMAN have any children ? Whatever happened to the
brothers and sisters of JOHN ELON FOY? Who were their children, our cousins
? What about MISSOURI FOY who lived right here in Texas all her life, yet,
family tradition claims she rode “the outlaw trail” ? What are her children’s
names and where are their kids ?
Records in a court house don’t preserve family history. They just preserve
