One-compartment open model
This model is the simplest way to describe drug distribution and elimination in the
body because there is only one compartment. All body tissues and fluids are
considered a part of this compartment. Furthermore, it is assumed that after a dose
of drug is administered, it distributes instantaneously to all body areas.
This model assumes that the drug can enter or leave the body (i.e., the model is
"open"), and the body acts like a single, uniform compartment.
