EOS is a cryptocurrency and a platform for building
decentralised applications.

The acronym "EOS" means a lot of things to the
different members of its community. The creators of
the EOS software (block.one) decided not to give it
any particular meaning, leaving the community
members to decide what EOS means to them.

As a result, various relative definitions of EOS have
continued to spring up since its inception and this
means that you can have your own definition of
EOS.

Some community members choose to call EOS “Epic
Operating System” because it has robust applications.
Others choose to call it “Enterprise

Operating System” because it provides a platform
where people can build awesome enterprises.

Some call it the “Earth's Operating System” because
the EOS logo is shaped like the heart which, in sacred
geometry, is correlated with the earth and also
