What are dApps?
Decentralized applications are applications that run
on a distributed computing system. DApps run on a
peer to peer network with no central entity that can
control their database as it is replicated across many
servers.
Characteristics of dApps
● Decentralized applications have the following
characteristics:
● The back-end code of dApps runs on a
decentralized peer-to-peer network such as a
blockchain.
● DApps are open-sourced and anyone should be
able to view the code on GitHub and propose
contributions to it.
● No entity can single-handedly make changes to
the code. Instead, the community comes to a
consensus on how the code is upgraded or how
changes are made to the network.
● DApps usually connect service providers directly
with the users and reduce the impact of third
parties or the middleman by replacing them with
