Maintaining Current Certifications
and Records

Australia or a Franchisee are
required to maintain currency of all
certifications (including, but not
limited to, police checks, first-aid/CPR
certificates, NDIS worker screening
checks, and working with children
checks, where applicable).
When a compliance check or
certification is about to expire, staff
will need to obtain an updated check
and provide this to their local office to
continue working.
Staff members are required to report
to their Coordinator any criminal
convictions or charges that would
be considered a disclosable court
outcome and banning orders under
the NDIS or Aged Care banning
register, in accordance with our
Employment Compliance procedure
(a copy of which is available on the
Intranet).
Staff members are also required
to report any changes in driver
licence status or insurances to their
Coordinator (including suspensions,
cancellations, or insurance coverage
policy changes).
Working for Just Better Care Gifts
From time to time, customers and
their families may offer you a gift
to show their appreciation. A small
gift, up to the value of $20, may be
accepted without disclosing the
gesture to the office (however, this
should not be a regular occurrence, as
this may be seen as tipping).
Gifts that could lead to financial gain
such as cash or lottery tickets or gifts
with a value greater than $20 should
be politely declined. If it is not possible
to decline the gift without causing
offence, the gift must be disclosed to
your office management. Community
Support Professionals must not give
gifts to customers, regardless how
small the gift is (this includes food
items such as cakes etc.).
If you are in any doubt, speak to your
Coordinator.
