The archaeological artifacts of Hizen blue and white porcelains found at Tainan,
in southern Taiwan and Pen-hu archipelago include bowls, dishes and bottles with
various decorations, all dated to the second half of the seventeenth century
(Fig. 8.5-1). Among these works, “Kraak style” Hizen dish is one of the most
typical trade porcelains for western markets (Fig. 8.5-2, 3; Lu 2006: 215–220; Lu
