                                                             18th century
                                                             Of slender tapering form resting on a stepped footring with slightly
                                                             sunken base, superbly carved with high shoulders and a short
                                                             cylindrical flaring neck, carved in low relief with a continuous scene of
                                                             plum blossoms and a gnarled rock, the stone of pale green tone.

           288                                               The present lot was probably an Imperial plaything, kept in one of the
                                                             treasure cabinets, such as those illustrated in A Garland of Treasures:
                                                             Masterpieces of Precious Crafts in the Museum Collection, Taipei,
                                                             2014, pp.171-175. See a related greyish-green jade meiping-shaped
                                                             snuff bottle, attributed to the Palace workshops, Qianlong, which was
                                                             sold at Christie’s New York, 24 March 2011, lot 1562.

                                                             A WHITE JADE ‘SHOU’ CIRCULAR BOX AND COVER
                                                             18th century
                                                             The body supported on a smaller foot ring, the domed cover with a
                                                             central Shou character in low relief enclosed within a raised border
                                                             repeated at the rim, the polished stone of even white tone with minor
                                                             pale cloudy inclusions. 6cm (3/8in) diam. (2).

                                                             1976, pl.B53. Compare with a slightly larger white jade circular box,
                                                             the cover similarly carved with a Shou character, 18th century, which
                                                             was sold at Christie’s New York, 20 September 2005, lot 6

                                                             A FINE SMALL WHITE JADE ‘PRUNUS’ CUP
                                                             17th/18th century
                                                             Finely hollowed and carved as a five-petalled plum blossom, with
                                                             gnarled prunus branches extending around the exterior and a bird
                                                             perched on one branch, the stone of lustrous white tone with minor
                                                             cloudy-white inclusions to the interior. 3.9cm (1 1/2in) diam.
