A JIAN ‘HARE’S FUR’ TEA BOWL

SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)

The bowl is potted with rounded sides, covered inside and out with a thick black glaze
streaked with russet ‘hare’s fur’ markings, the glaze stopping irregularly above the short
foot ring revealing the chocolate-brown body.
