                                                                    SCHOLAR’ INK CAKE

                                                                    WANLI JIHAI CYCLICAL YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO 1599 AND OF

                                                                    THE PERIOD

                                                                    The circular ink cake is finely moulded and highlighted with red,
                                                                    blue and green pigments on each side with forty-five scholars
                                                                    engaging in various pursuits. The ink cake is bound and moulded
                                                                    on one narrow side with Wanli jihai nian Wu Shenbo zhi, ‘Made
                                                                    by Wu Shenbo in the twenty-seventh year of Wanli’.

款識:大清乾隆年製、古華軒藏墨

古華軒位於寧壽宮內建於乾隆三十七年(1772)。
此式「喚卿呼子謂多事」墨出自清十八世紀製墨
名家汪近聖,參見王儷閻與蘇強著《明清徽墨研究》,
上海,2007年,頁55,圖版3.17。
