A PAIR OF CARVED POLYCHROME LACQUER
BOXES AND COVERS
QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG PERIOD
of circular form, one flat cover carved to the top through
layers of yellow, green and red with a pair of balsam
pears on a leafy stem, the other similarly rendered with
two peaches, all against a diaper ground, the deep sides
carved with geometric wan pattern, the interiors and
base lacquered black
