QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
brightly decorated to the exterior with stylised shou
roundels alternating with flying bats amidst swirling
clouds, all between a band of stylised ruyi and a band of
lappet panels enclosing lotus blooms, the neck decorated
with archaistic motifs below further lotus blooms, all
reserved on a turquoise ground

of square form, the covered decorated with a
grasshopper perched on leafy floral spray issuing from
jagged rocks, together with a small butterfly in flight,
reserved against a diaper ground, the interiors and base
lacquered black
