TWO OVERLAY GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES
Yangzhou School, 1800-1850
The first of multi-color overlay on transparent glass,
one side carved with a crab and chrysanthemums, and
branches of coral in a vase, the other side with a cat
and peonies, and an orchid sprig in a jue; the second of
dark brown overlay on white glass, one side inscribed
with a date renwu chun ri (spring day, 1822) and carved
with a young oxherd and his ox, the other side carved
with a rabbit and birds fleeing from a dog and hawk.
