THREE FAMILLE-ROSE PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLES
1850-1900
The first of tapered cylindrical form, painted with Li Tieguai, his
gourd issuing five blessings in the form of bats, the recessed foot
stamped in iron-red with a four-character Qianlong mark; the second
flattened ovoid form, painted with a continuous scene of Zhongkui in
a procession with his demons, the concave base with a four-character
Qianlong seal mark in iron-red; the third of bulging cylindrical form,
painted with two female musicians in an interior setting.

A FAMILLE-ROSE PORCELAIN ‘BUTTERFLIES’ SNUFF BOTTLE
1820-1850
Made in the shape of a flattened melon, painted on each side with
butterflies and leafy vines bearing ripe balsam pears split open to
reveal the red flesh within.
