TWO OVERLAY GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES
1800-1900
The first of green overlay on caramel glass, one side
carved with two bats flaying above the rising sun, the other
side carved with two cranes flanking a mansion borne on
clouds rising from the sea; the second a Yangzhou school
bottle of brown overlay on white glass, carved on one
side inscribed with a scene of a mounted hunter shooting
a deer, inscribed de lu tu (obtaining emoluments), the
other side carved with chrysanthemums and orchids in
decorative vessels.

TWO GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES
1750-1820
Each of flattened rounded form, the cranberry-red overlay
on the first carved as a circular bi disc on each face, an
oval frame each side, and the oval foot ring; the second
of milky-white glass, simulating white jade, the shoulders
carved with lion mask and mock ring handles, supported
on a concave foot.
