THREE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN
SNUFF BOTTLES
1820-1900
The first of rounded square form, finely painted
with a lion and cub, surrounded by clouds,
reversed by signature reading Zijing, the foot with
a peach enclosed within the oval foot ring; the
second and third both of cylindrical form painted
with a dragon and flaming pearl amid clouds,
against a crackled ground, the foot of the one
with the finer crackle marked with a four-character
Qianlong seal mark.

RED SNUFF BOTTLES

Each of circular section, the first painted with a
narrative scene of two men greeting a man in
a mask with his horse and groom; the second
painted with a scene from the Qing dynasty novel
Xue Rengui zheng dong (Xue Rengui’s Eastern
Campaign), the names of the five generals
involved appearing on flags, the recessed foot
marked with a tiger; the third painted with a
dragon amid dense clouds.

THREE PORCELAIN JAR-FORM SNUFF
BOTTLES
1820-1900
The first finely incised around the rounded sides
with peony blossoms against a leafy ground,
covered overall with a pale blue qingbai glaze,
original stopper; the second painted with a dragon
against a ground of leafy stems bearing peony
blossoms, the foot with a dragon mark; the third
painted with a scene of two officials approaching a
bridge on horseback, the foot with a six-character
Qianlong mark.
