AN AGATE ‘FISHERMAN’ SNUFF BOTTLE
1750-1860
Well-hollowed of slightly flattened globular form, the brown inclusions
used to highlight a relief scene of a fisherman wading in a lotus pond
to check his trap as a carp swims away, while a woodcutter rests
against his bundle of kindling, the carved design extending over the
recessed foot.

A STRIATED AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE
1750-1860
Of flattened rounded square form, with a tubular neck and oval foot
ring, the shoulders carved with lion mask and mock ring handles, the
remaining surfaces unadorned to display the white, caramel and gray
striations in the stone.
