THREE PORCELAIN ‘DRAGON’ SNUFF
BOTTLES
1850-1900
Each of circular section, the first of tapering
cylindrical form with a canted shoulder gently
rising to a broad lipped mouth, the dragon painted
in underglaze blue, the base with a four-character
Yongzheng mark; the second of slightly bulging
cylindrical form, supported on a recessed foot,
the dragon painted in iron-red; the third of squat
cylindrical form, the recessed foot surrounded
by a foot ring, decorated with two dragons amid
clouds in underglaze blue.

THREE IRON-RED PORCELAIN SNUFF
BOTTLES
1820-1880
The first two of flattened pear shape; one painted
on each side with a dragon roundel above waves,
the foot with two-character Yongzheng mark; the
second painted with an image of Zhongkui and
five demons; the third of twin form, formed from
two conjoined cylindrical bottles, each painted
with a dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl amid
clouds.

THREE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN
SNUFF BOTTLES
1800-1900
The first of meiping form, penciled with three
peony blossoms against a ground of leafy stems,
the flat foot unglazed; the second of octagonal
section, each facet painted with one of the ‘Eight
Immortals’, the foot with a four-character Qianlong
mark; the third of tapering cylindrical form, painted
with two dragons, the recessed foot with a six-
character Yongzheng mark.
