A BRONZE 'DAOIST' INCENSE BOX AND COVER
MING DYNASTY
of circular form, finely cast with an ovoid body rising to a short mouthrim, the flat top of the
cover pieced with a wondrous design of two deer standing below a large pine tree, the
burls and knots of the gnarled tree trunk intricately detailed with lingzhi fungus sprouting
from the ground, the bronze of a variegated brown patina
