A SMALL SILVER-INLAID BRONZE PEAR-SHAPED VASE
MING DYNASTY, 15TH / 16TH CENTURY
finely cast with a pear-shaped body rising from a short splayed foot to a waisted neck and
everted rim, the exterior inlaid in silver with a band enclosing a pair of taotie masks
bordering the neck, the body with a broader band similarly, the surface patinated to a warm
chocolate-brown colour mottled with black inclusions
