264 A powerful boxwood netsuke of a shishi and
a cub. Late 18th century
The cub sitting on the back of its parent, who
turns the head to the left, the mouth open with
a loose ball inside, mane and tail rendered with
locks and long strands of hair and distinctive
sunburst tufts in engraving. Chips.

Of triangular shape, trying to mount a big ball
clamped between his feet. A small loose ball in
his open mouth. The eye pupils inlaid black.
