266  A Kyoto school ivory netsuke of a one-horned
                 dragon. Late 18th/early 19th century

                 The scaly body coiled into an oval shape, with a long
                 mane and with long and lambent tongues of flames
                 emanating from the joints.

             267  An ivory netsuke of a dragon. 19th century

                 Winding around a ken sword with a vajra-type
                 pommel. Chipped.
                 According to the „Ko-ji Hô-ten“ this motif stands
                 for ,Amakurikara’ (an abbreviation for Amaryô no
                 Kurikara ryô, the rain dragon winding around a
                 sword blade) which refers just like Yin and Yang
                 to the two key principles of life.
