371 A boxwood netsuke of Yamauba and Kintarô.
Late 18th century
Standing on one foot, dressed in a loose robe revealing
her bare bosom and a leafy skirt, the „Old Woman of the
Mountains“ carries Kintarô on her shoulder. The naked
„Golden Boy“ holding a rope with a mushroom attached
to each end. Restored.
