A RARE ‘IMITATION-REALGAR’ GLASS TRIPOD
CENSER
QIANLONG WHEEL-CUT FOUR-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A
DOUBLE SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The compressed body is raised on three integral conical supports,
the opaque glass imitates realgar with swirling patterns throughout
in vibrant shades of yellowish-orange interspersed with paler
and darker tones. Together with a contemporary partially gilded
bronze liner.
